Win rate
Win rate is the percentage of qualified opportunities that close as signed business, one of the core metrics used to set realistic pipeline coverage targets.
Win rate should be calculated only against opportunities that passed a defined qualification bar, not against every inbound inquiry, or the number will be artificially low and uninformative.
Tracking win rate by segment, deal size, and lead source (referral vs. outbound vs. inbound) reveals which channels and account types actually convert, information that raw pipeline volume hides.
Why it mattersA firm that does not track win rate by source cannot tell whether its outbound investment is working or simply adding volume that never closes.
